Insiders guide to Lewes by Fiona Adamczewski, Interview by Portia Colwell
The Times

“When Lewes was flooded a couple of years ago, the river poured straight through this shop. Bill, its owner, has completely refurbished it and the result is this marvellous French-style grocery store. The vegetable and fruit, some of which are organic, are beautifully displayed, and there is a café where you can stop for a freshly squeezed juice, or a breakfast if you are feeling peckish. Its tarts and pies are delicious and freshly made on the premises by an Italian chef.”
